Closely aligned with our HR Business partnering and Talent Acquisition as a Service model, our Managed HR Services is seeing a significant uptake on personal development, organisational wellbeing, 360 review feedback and coaching services.
The trend is being led by two driving factors; the need to increase capability and heightened performance in senior leadership teams plus awareness of the importance of emotional intelligence in key influencers and your SLT. Not surprisingly there are many businesses (of all scales) still hampered by a lack of leadership and internal capability to drive change,
maximising technology and current best practice to reduce operating budgets dramatically while enhancing insight and engagement with their target audience (customers). Simply hiring new talent isn’t a quick fix if on-boarding, team dynamics and professional review/development are not in place.
Driving positive behaviours in leaders needs continual refinement, a finessing of style, culture and engagement. We’ve found the most effective return on investment and time comes from a continual development programme for new SLT/Exec hires including (and based on evidence from) a thorough 360-degree performance review at three, six and twelve-month way points. Using an internal or external mentor/coach to focus on individual and team development leads to a change in mind set and culture, driving personal behaviour, getting people to continually ask themselves the question, ‘how do I up my game’? The higher performance leadership teams who adopt this approach not only see increased success, better team dynamics/motivation but also create a more quantifiable set of KPIs (key performance indicators). This leads to a more proactive and commercially aligned business strategy and long-term incentive planning for your board/SLT.
We are keen to hear from businesses leaders about their experiences developing effective teams and will be inviting those with an interest in creating high performance leadership teams to some of our complimentary sponsored workshops in London in September and October.
